Overview: $650 for $1,000 worth of media conversion services. We provide free shipping via UPS for your box or boxes of memories that you send into our lab. Use this service to downsize and modernize your collection of media recordings to new data file formats, returned to you via the web or flash-drive, plus a backup copy on Blu-ray Data Disc. Video content is returned as MP4 files, audio content as MP3 files, and images as JPEG files.
The BOX SPECIAL offer is good for the following types of media:
- Up to 50 video tapes (retail $15 to $25 ea, depending upon type),
- Up to 40 DVDs (retail $25 ea.)
- Up to 40 audio cassettes (normal retail is $25)
- Up to 30 SD cards (normal retail $33 each)
- Up to 5,000 feet of 8mm or 16mm film (retail value of $1,000)
- Up to 3,000 photos (retail value of $0.25 to $1 each)
- Up to 2,000 35mm slides (retail value of $0.45 to $1 each)
- Or some combination of the above.
If you send in more than $1,000 worth of work, we will call you first with an updated quote for your approval, before we start conversion of your items.
This service is applicable to:
- Home movies on 8mm/16mm film, video tapes, DVDs, Blu-ray Discs, Camcorder Hard-drives, and SD Memory Cards;
- Images on prints, photos, 35mm slides, and negatives; and
- Audio recordings on cassettes and vinyl LPs. (Audio reels may be extra.)
The turnaround time for this service is approximately 3 to 4 weeks, typical for large collections.
File Names and Instructions: We will label the digital files with the names given us by you, or what we see on each item, or we label them reel #1, reel #2, tape #1, tape #2, etc.
Returning Your Items: We return your original physical items to you via UPS shipment, and return the new digital files via Flash-drive or Web download, plus a backup of all files on Blu-ray Data Discs. We will keep the digital files available for 90 days in our own network storage to protect against loss or if there is need for additional editing. (For LightJar subscribers we place their new digital files into their LightJar account as a new collection, initially titled with their last name and Cintrex order number.)
Shipping: At the end of the order submittal process, we provide a link to a free UPS Shipping Label for attachment to your inbound package to Cintrex AV. The label will have your origination address and our destination address. Take the UPS labeled package to the nearest UPS drop-off point. Do not leave larger packages unattended outside a UPS dropbox, instead hand your valuable packages over to a store clerk inside a UPS store or drop-off location.
How it works: When the box arrives at Cintrex, we inventory contents, place your order in our system, and begin the conversion process - cleaning, prepping, scanning, capturing and reformatting the content into its final delivered formats. If the retail value of the items is greater than $1,000, we will revise the price for the order, and not start the order until you give approval. We do not collect funds from your credit card until the order is completed, quality control processes are checked and the order is invoiced and readied for return shipment.
