The M-DISC is a special archival-grade optical disc that retains its stored digital content for up to 1,000 years, according to the US Department of Defense. It can be configured as either a video disc for play in DVD and Blu-ray Disc players, or as a Data Disc for storage of up to 4.7GB of video, other types of media files, and documents. Having your favorite videos and important data files backed up to M-DISC provides peace of mind.
Suggested uses for the M-DISC:
- Copy Video DVDs onto M-DISC for longer shelf life, better durability and as a reliable backup copy.
- Storage Media for all your data files. Advantages: passive hands-off storage, no moving parts, resistant to electronic or magnetic interference.
Pricing Information: Archived storage of any type is $15 per M-DISC. Extra copies of a finished M-DISC are $10 each.
We can receive your digital content destined for
archived storage via web upload or UPS package shipment. For web
upload, please note in the comments field of your order that you desire a
web file transfer of your files, and we will provide a link to our file
upload service. After order submittal and acceptance, you will also
receive a link to a UPS label generator if you want to mail a package
into Cintrex with original content. UPS shipping both ways is free on
orders valued at $100 or more. The UPS shipping & handling charge
is $7.50 on orders of $50 or more, and S&H is $25 on orders less
than $50 in value.
Organization of content, and labeling the disc
- Cintrex will follow your direction for file organization, information
tagging, and labeling the M-DISC. Please include your
instructions in the comments field, or with additional notes in the UPS
package or file uploads.
